How to get there
Lake Garda lies in northern Italy, halfway between Venice and Milan, between the Alpes and the widest Italian plain. Domus Alessandra in Villa Nichesola is easily reachable as it is located along the main road (SS 249) circumscribing Lake Garda, just m 500 north from the old town centre of Malcesine, a major holiday resort on the north-east side of the lake (click here for a map of Malcesine: Villa Nichesola is highlighted with a red circle). By Car: From the motorway A22 Modena-Brennero exit ROVERETO SUD if proceeding from the north, otherwise AFFI. From the motorway A4 Milano-Venezia exit PESCHIERA. By Train: If arriving from the north: drop off VERONA PORTA NUOVA otherwise PESCHIERA, then catch the bus. By Flight: Nearest international airports: Verona-Brescia Montichiari (Ryanair flights via London Stansted) and Verona Villafranca (BA flights). Further useful airports are: Milan-Bergamo "Orio al Serio" (Ryanair flights from London Luton, Newcastle, Liverpool, Glasgow... and Jet2.com flights from Manchester Terminal 1 and Leeds Bradford), Venice-Treviso (Ryanair flights from London Stansted), Venice "Marco Polo" (Jet2.com flights from Leeds Bradford and Manchester Terminal 1), Milan Linate. Check "links" webpage and visit Ryanair, Easyjet and Jet2 for maps of low cost flights connections (point the mouse on the airport you are interested in).
Guests staying longer than 6 days can enjoy a "pick-up & drop-off" transfer from/to any of the 2 Lake Garda's airports and from Peschiera and Verona railway stations (according to arrival/departure times). Such a service is from 2006 extended also to the airports of Milan Linate, Milan Bergamo Orio al Serio, Venice "Marco Polo" and Venice Treviso at the cost of fuel and tolls.
